Brighton Road Corridor Experimental Traffic Management Order (ETMO) survey

Brighton Road is a major transport corridor into Croydon town centre from the south of the borough.  The council has introduced improvements along Brighton Road to improve conditions for cyclists and pedestrians. Changes include:

Brighton Road Scheme Highlights:

  • Where feasible, parking and waiting restrictions have been reduced to make it easier for traders and shoppers.
  • Bus lane restrictions have been relaxed to allow for parking on the south side of the road during off-peak hours
  • All existing parking bays in the southbound lane will stay in place
  • Additional parking bays and loading bays have been added at shopping parades and other identified areas

From 03 April, these improvements  will become operational as part of an Experimental Traffic Management  Order (ETMO). Under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, we are notifying you that a six-month statutory objection period for the Brighton Road Cycle Scheme will start from 03 April 2023. If you have any comments, suggestions or objections on this change, please take part in our survey below.

The survey  launches on 03 April and will close at 23:59 hours on 03 October 2023.
