Have your say on the proposed reduction in Published Admission Number for the 2019/20 Academic Year.

Why are we doing this?

Croydon Council would welcome your views on the proposed reduction of Norbury Manor Primary, and Monks Orchard Primary Schools’ Published Admission Number (PAN) for the 2019/20 academic year as part of the community schools’ published admission arrangements (Appendix 1). The proposal is to reduce the PAN for Norbury Manor Primary School and Monks Orchard Primary School by one form of entry (1FE) – 30 Reception pupils each - from September 2019.

The Council is the Admission Authority for community schools and is therefore responsible for consulting on the reduction of community schools’ admission numbers, where necessary.

This consultation will run from 8 November 2017 to 20 December 2017.

For more details, please see the attached Consultation Document.

What do we want to know?

We want to know your views on the proposed reduction of PAN by 30 reception places at both Monks Orchard Primary School and Norbury Manor Primary School. Please let us know if you are impacted by these proposed changes and if so, how?

What we found out
What difference has it made?

On 22 January 2018, the consultation outcomes report was submitted to the Council committee as part of the Education Estates Report. It was agreed to recommend to full Council that it determine the proposed Admission Arrangements for Croydon’s community schools for the 2019/20 academic year, including the responses to consultation on the proposed reduction of the PAN for Norbury Manor and Monks Orchard Primary Schools and adoption of the proposed Pan London co-ordination arrangements.

On 29 January 2018, the motion was moved by Councillor Flemming and seconded by Councillor Shafi Khan. The motion was put to the vote and carried unanimously. Council therefore RESOLVED to adopt the Admission Arrangements for Croydon’s community schools for the 2019/20 academic year.

As a result, the Published Admission Number (PAN) for Monks Orchard and Norbury Manor Primary Schools will be reduced by 30 Reception places each from the 2019/20 academic year.
