Croydon libraries survey
Why are we doing this?Following the collapse of Carillion, the council has taken Croydon libraries back in-house, securing the long-term future of the library service and guaranteeing the jobs of all library staff.
We are making some immediate improvements to the way libraries are run, such as improving cleaning standards and ensuring that books and other resources are chosen locally by our customers and staff in order to better meet local need.
The Upper Norwood Library Hub is run through a different arrangement to the rest of the libraries in Croydon and was not included in the outsourced arrangement with Carillion. The library service in the hub is jointly-funded by Lambeth Council and Croydon Council and the library service is provided by Lambeth. The building is occupied by the Upper Norwood Library Trust, a charitable organisation supported by Croydon and Lambeth Councils. There are no plans to change this arrangement.
What do we want to know?Whether you currently use our libraries or not, we want to take this opportunity to ask you if there are any improvements to the service you would like to see. We want to know more about the books and online resources you want to be available through the library service. We also want to understand what other services are important to you so that we can consider these as we plan for the future.
