Draft Short Breaks Statement

Why are we doing this?

Croydon has had a statutory duty under the Break for Carers of Disabled Children Regulations 2011 to “provide short breaks to those who care for disabled children when it would improve their ability to care for their disabled child, or when they could not continue to provide care without a short break” and to “publish information to parents about the service available in their area and criteria for accessing it”.

The document where we publish this information for parents and carers is called the Short Breaks Statement and we are currently updating this and would like to seek your views

What do we want to know?

We would like to hear your thoughts and views on the proposed Short Breaks Statement.

To do this, please read the draft Short Break Statement document below.  Once you have done this, please complete the questionnaire.  Your feedback is very valuable and will help us to ensure we have a service that meets the needs of children and young people in the future.
