Croydon Local Plan - representation form

Why are we doing this?

The Croydon Local Plan sets out how the borough can thrive and grow to meet future increasing demand. It details how many new homes the borough needs, how the infrastructure such as roads, schools and medical facilities need to change, and what jobs and employment opportunities are required to support local communities in each of the borough’s 16 places.

From Monday 5 September to Monday 17 October, residents can make any final comments on the proposed submission. All responses will be sent to the Planning Inspectorate to be considered as part of the public examination of the Plan. The final Plan will then go before the council in the winter for approval for submission to the secretary of state. More information about the Local Plan programme can be found here.

What do we want to know?

Using this form you will be able to submit up to 10 individual representations.  If you need to make more than 10 representations, you will need to complete this form more than once.

If you have any queries when filling out this form, please contact the Spatial Planning Service on 020 8726 6000 or 020 8407 1385, or email ldf@croydon.gov.uk.

What we found out

The Summary of the Representations of all those duly made representations that the council received will be published on the council’s website at the end of January. The council will only include a response to a representation in the Summary if we are planning to make a change to the Local Plan and have included this as a main modification with the submission of the Local Plan. It is for the appointed Planning Inspector as the independent examiner of the Local Plan to determine those matters raised by representations where the council has stated ‘no change’. Copies of the individual representations will also be published on our website as soon as possible after the submission of the Local Plan documents (with personal details other than names redacted).

The council has appointed a Programme Officer who will ensure that all those who indicated they wished to be notified of the Submission for independent examination are notified when the Local Plans are submitted.  Once the dates for the Hearing Sessions in public (the oral examination) are confirmed by the appointed Planning Inspector they will be published six weeks in advance on our website. The Hearing sessions are likely to take place in late spring 2017.  The Programme Officer will contact all who indicated in their representations that they wished to participate in the oral examination and a programme for the Hearing Sessions will be published. The sessions will be open to the public but only those invited to make a verbal representation by the Planning Inspector may speak.

The Programme Officer’s contact details will be published on our website in January 2017.
