Have your say on the proposed school admission arrangements for 2018/19 and Fair Access Protocols

Why are we doing this?

In line with the School Admissions Code, admission authorities must set ('determine') admission arrangements annually.  Where changes are proposed to admission arrangements, the admission authority must first publicly consult on those arrangements. If no changes are made to admission arrangements, they must be consulted on. Part of this responsibility includes consulting with relevant parties in determining (setting) the admission arrangements.

There are currently 32 Community schools in Croydon for which the council is the admission authority and therefore is responsible for determining the admissions arrangements for these schools.

What do we want to know?

We would like your views on the proposed changes to the admission arrangements and Fair Access protocols, what impact the changes may have and any suggestions.

What we found out

A total of 14 completed questionnaires have been received, of which the majority of respondents are in support of the proposed changes. A detailed breakdown of the responses can be found in the outcomes report. Please see link below.


The proposed arrangements and the responses to the consultation will be presented to Cabinet on 23 January 2017 and then to full Council on 30 January 2017 for a decision.
