Welcome to the Residents’ Choice nomination area.

If you know a Croydon officer, team or someone who is delivering a service on behalf of the council who you believe has made a positive impact in the borough - this is the place to tell us. The Residents’ Choice Award is the only category within the council’s staff awards programme where members of the public nominate and vote for the winner.

What you need to do

Nominating will only take a few minutes – we just need a few words about what the person or team has done and why you feel they deserve recognition. We’ll also ask for some details about yourself, just in case we need to ask you any questions about the nomination. Your personal data will be used for no other purpose.

What are we looking for?

Last year this award was won by volunteer and learning officer Andrew Dickinson, for his work in supporting the volunteer groups at Wandle Park.

Andrew was nominated for caring passionately about the community he supports, playing an important role in enhancing the cultural offering at the park. His nomination, fondly referring to him as 'Mr Croydon', explained how he makes residents feel part of a local community, better connecting them with activites, events and one another.

Next steps

Nominations close on Friday 21 September, they will then be assessed by judges and shortlisted for a public vote in October – where you will decide the winner of this award. Winners are announced on 22 November 2018.

Thank you for taking the time to nominate.

*Please note – the Croydon Council Awards are delivered thanks to the financial support of key council partners, at no cost to the taxpayer.
