Community Vaccine Champions support their family, friends and wider community to make sense of the latest advice and information about Covid-19. As a Covid-19 community vaccine champion, you will play a vital role in keeping Croydon safe as we learn to live with Covid-19.

Supports people in their communities to make informed decisions about Covid-19 vaccines
Signposts people to appropriate professional help, advice, and services
Gets messages on Covid-19 vaccination to key groups and communities

Helps develop local targeted communications
Provides information on how, where and when to get a Covid-19 vaccine
Pick up on any concerns or problems, feeding them back to the NHS for resolution

Train to be a COVID-19 Community Vaccine Champion - help Croydon to live safely with Covid-19
About the training course
Croydon Public Health and the NHS have worked to together to develop a training plan which will help you understand more about the vaccine and enable you to support others with their decisions about having a vaccination.
The training is online only. You will need internet access and a laptop or desktop computer. Please contact us if this will be difficult for you: CovidVaccineChampions@croydon.gov.uk (External link)
The course lasts 1 hour 30 minutes and is a mix of tutor-based learning and interactive break-out sessions. You'll receive a certificate of attendance to show you're a Covid-19 community vaccine champion.
Employers will be reimbursed for the time their staff take to attend the course.
What you will learn
During the course you will gain an understanding of how Covid-19 vaccines work. You'll also gain the skills and confidence to provide support for people and answer their questions and concerns about the Covid-19 vaccine.
Use Croydon's Covid-19 Vaccine Van for your community
Croydon’s Covid-19 ‘Vaccine Van’ is a collaboration between South-West London Clinical Commissioning Group, Croydon Health Services NHS and Croydon Council. Look out for the van, which is popping up at various locations across the borough and offering 1st, 2nd, and booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. No appointment is needed!
The van is supervised by a clinical lead and a trained vaccinator, who will be happy to answer any questions you have about the Covid-19 vaccine. Our Covid-19 community vaccine champions will also be present to provide any support you need.
The flexibility of the van means we are able to bring the vaccine into your community. All we need is a safe parking space! If you are running a group or event and would like us to come and visit, please email covid19@croydon.gov.uk We look forward to working with you to help keep your community safe.

Covid-19 vaccine phone hotline: 020 3880 0338
South West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is running a free clinical Covid-19 vaccine phone hotline. You will be able get answers to all your Covid-19 vaccine questions and you will not be asked to have the vaccination.
Nurses, pharmacists and other clinical staff are available to talk through your queries and ensure everyone has the information they need to make an informed decision about the Covid-19 vaccine.
The phone line is open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. When you call, you can be booked in for a telephone appointment at a time that suits you or booked in for a face-to-face appointment, if preferred.
