Croydon Council wants to hear from residents, staff and partners on its Housing Asset Management Strategy. This strategy will set out the council's approach to maintaining, managing and investing in council homes and assets over the next five years.
As part of this, we'd like to hear what people think of our proposed approach to how we best manage our council homes and assets and any suggestions for how we could improve our strategy.
There are five principles that we think are vital to providing an effective asset management strategy. We want to hear your views on these principles, and whether they capture the challenges facing the council and those living in council housing in our borough over the coming years.
We will be holding online sessions to hear people's views on our proposals to inform our strategy. If you would like to take part in these, please email Isthiak.Hussain@croydon.gov.uk to express your interest.
Have your say and take part in our survey which closes at 11:59 pm, Tuesday 5 March 2024.

Profile of our assets
We have a total asset base of over 19,600 units, comprising more than 16,000 residential homes – including 2,545 leasehold properties where we retain freehold ownership, and over 2,700 other assets units.
The physical and financial performance of these assets underpins the strategy for Council Housing which is funded through the income we receive for these homes and assets.
How our assets perform, and their quality, directly impacts on our residents and the communities that they are part of. Having good quality and well-maintained homes can significantly impact upon the health, well-being, and quality of life of our residents and we know that this is a major driver of resident satisfaction.
Principles of our Asset management Strategy
It is proposed our Strategy is based on a set of 5 underlying principles, and which are part of all key strategic programmes and projects to ensure we and our residents get maximum benefit and value from our assets.
All these principles will be fully effective only if they are working together and alongside effective risk management and control.
